YALM: Yet Another Layout Modification

I've modified again the blog's layout, I often get tired of having the same layout for a long time.
This time instead of creating one from scratch I based on the one I already had done because it was simple and clean. The modifications weren't many, but I think they boost the look of the blog. Here are the modifications listed:

There's a new panel which includes a brief presentation about me and yet another ugly photo of myself. laugh
There's a small banner, to give some visual impact. The keyboard photo was shot by me a while ago and full photo can be found in storage.
The blog date's background for new entries became a gradient instead of a solid color.
The icons for permalink, user snip, regular snip and comment were changed.
Navigation arrows for next page and previous page of the weblog were also added.

I'm no designer but I'm very happy with the result I came up with. It seems to me that it's clean and stylish - still I may be wrong.
As usual comments regarding the modifications, or any suggestions, are more than welcome.

I must say that the banner makes the title difficult to read. I also find the new icons a little too big. But the rest looks great.

(Actually I don't quite remember the previous layout but this one looks nice. smiley )

PS: Has, this change, anything to do with the increase in visitors?

Well it seems I have to work more on the banner, well not really on the banner but on the fonts… Still don't know how to fix that problem though. The icons are currently 22x22, I'll try with 16x16.

Regarding the change I like to changes layours from time to time, but this time I also got two, let's say, "motivation" emails - from the new visitors - regarding blog's presentation which motivated me to change it a bit.
