Sleuth Noir: Interesting online game

sleuth I'm not much of a gamer, although from time to time I play a few online games, specially if they are games that I played in the past. Examples are, Lemmings and Rick Dangerous that were already mentioned in this blog in >>Nostalgia: Lemmings and >>Rick Dangerous.
Today I stumbled on a new game, which I found quite interesting. The name is >>Mystery Game: Sleuth Noir and it's one of those online RPGs that can have a free account and a subscription account with more goodies. I'm far away from addiction - I'll staying the free account - but I must say I like the game. Mostly because I'm very fond of the almost dead >>Noir Style.

The idea is simple, the player is a private eye that gets hired to solve cases. Like any other RPG there are skills for each character, from a retired thief to a police man that wants to do justice by himself. Being a text game it reminds me the real old days when I played Zortron (the predecessor of Zork) on my spectrum 48k.

The interesting feature on this game is that besides questioning game characters and inspecting crime scenes you can, join secret societies, acquire town contacts or even travel two other countries.
The down catch on having a free account are:

  • A player can only solve 4 cases per day
  • A player cannot enrol in an agency
Even with this restrictions - which to me aren't that bad - Sleuth Noir can give players a few minutes of fun.
Everyone fond of Noir style and private eyes should try this game. Probably after one or two days people get bored, but until that happens it's guaranteed fun.
